Terms of Service
Last updated July 4, 2026
Mainroom ("we", "us") provides a self-serve platform that lets event organizers sell tickets and check attendees in. By using Mainroom — as an organizer or a ticket buyer — you agree to these terms.
The service
Organizers create events, set prices, and sell tickets through their own Stripe account connected via Stripe Connect. Mainroom is not the seller of tickets. The organizer is the merchant of record for every purchase; we provide the software that facilitates the sale. Payment processing is handled by Stripe and subject to Stripe's terms.
Fees
Buyers pay a flat service fee per paid ticket (currently $0.99), shown at checkout. Organizers pay no Mainroom fees; standard Stripe card-processing fees apply to each transaction. Free tickets carry no fees at all.
Organizer responsibilities
- You must own or have the right to sell admission to the events you list.
- You are responsible for the event happening as described, for your refund decisions, and for complying with local laws (including age restrictions and capacity limits).
- You are responsible for taxes on your ticket revenue. Mainroom does not collect or remit taxes on your behalf.
- Chargebacks and disputes on your ticket sales are between you, your buyer, and Stripe.
Buyer terms
- A ticket is a license to attend issued by the organizer, not by Mainroom.
- Each ticket code admits one person, once. Keep your code private.
- Refunds are decided by the event organizer — see our refund policy.
Acceptable use
No fraudulent events, no reselling tickets at scale through the platform, no unlawful content or events, no attempts to break or overload the service. We may suspend accounts or remove events that violate these rules, and we may withhold platform cooperation with payouts pending investigation of suspected fraud.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mainroom is not liable for cancelled events, organizer conduct, lost profits, or indirect damages. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees we earned from the transactions giving rise to it.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on this page. Continued use after changes means acceptance. Questions: tickets@shovelware.ai.
